The Lehigh Valley Chapter of Ducks Unlimited is holding its second annual Fall Sportsmen’s Pig Roast and Block Shoot 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 21 at Grouse Hall Fish & Game Association in Coplay.
“This is an important event for us,” said chapter spokesman Todd Dalrymple, Jr. “It helped our Chapter raise over $25,000 for conservation last year, which equals approximately 100 acres of habitat improvement and restoration.”
In addition to the block shoot and pig roast, the casual event will feature
gun raffles, decoys, hunting gear, Ducks Unlimited merchandise and a Ladies Table.
The pig roast begins at 1 p.m. The buffet includes corn on the cob, side salads, beer, soda and a one-year DU membership.
The block shoot, which kicks off the event at 11 a.m., will include special guests: military veterans from Hunters Helping Heroes, an organization dedicated to providing excursions and recreational activities for our veterans, service members, firefighters and police officers in thanks for protecting our freedom at home and abroad, each and every day.
Only 12 gauge shotguns are allowed for the block shoots. Plan on bringing your own shotgun, but a house gun will be available. DU will provide the shells. The cost for each shoot is $5 with 20 shooters per 20-shot round. Meat prizes are being provided by Kornfeind’s Market in Coplay.
Individual tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door. Couples tickets are $55 in advance and $65 at the door.
Early Bird packages include one dinner ticket and $200 in general raffle ticket and are available for $135 if purchased by Aug. 13.
