Lehigh Valley Phantoms announce exhibition home games Oct. 7-8

On Tuesday at noon, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms announced that they will be hosting the Charlotte Checkers in back-to-back games to kick off their home exhibition season for the 2016-17 American Hockey League season, the Phantoms’ third season playing in Allentown’s PPL Center.

The Phantoms will host the Checkers, the AHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes, 7:05 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7 and again at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, October 8.

The AHL announced the entire 2016-17 regular season schedule last week. The PPL Center hockey season opens 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28 when the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers host the New Jersey Devils in an exhibition game. The Flyers are the Phantoms’ parent club.

The Phantoms kick off the regular season 7:05 p.m. Oct. 15 at home against the Springfield Falcons.
