Get your pup ready for hunting season at the 6th annual Lehigh Valley Hunting and Fishing Extravaganza Top Dog Challenge 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 28 at the Kempton Fairgrounds in Kempton, Pa.

The timed bird-finding event is sponsored by Pheasant Valley Farm of Robesonia, Berks County and the LVHFE, Show_Imageand is open to flushers, pointers and retrievers. Trophies are awarded at the completion of the event, and the top three places will receive Cabela’s gift cards.

The 11th annual Lehigh Valley Hunting and Fishing Extravaganza that takes place AUg. 27-28 at the Kempton Fairgrounds in Kempton, Pa., is again an early fall show, just prior to the fall hunting and fishing seasons. The Kempton Fairgrounds offer the largest outdoors sportsman’s show in the East.

When it comes to youth involvement, everyone talks the talk, but we walk the walk!

As a special salute to our everyday heroes, all police, active and retired military personnel, and first responders with proper ID gain free admission 11 a.m. until closing on Sunday, Aug 28.

The Lehigh Valley Chapter of Ducks Unlimited is holding its second annual Fall Sportsmen’s Pig Roast and Block Shoot 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 21 at Grouse Hall Fish & Game Association in Coplay.

WoodDuckBox“This is an important event for us,” said chapter spokesman Todd Dalrymple, Jr. “It helped our Chapter raise over $25,000 for conservation last year, which equals approximately 100 acres of habitat improvement and restoration.”

Vietnam seminars on tap at LVHFE

The Dogs of War Vietnam Living History Group will once again set up camp at the Lehigh Valley Hunting and Fishing Extravaganza Aug. 27-28 at the Kempton Fairgrounds, Kempton, Pa.

 

This year, however, there will be no battle reenactment as the Dogs of War begin to focus more on educational awareness. As part of the effort, the group is showcasing the actual command Jeep used by Gen. George S. Patton IV during the conflict.
